Quintin Sinclair Upshire also known as Quincy was born in Chicago, IL on July 20, 1984 to Mary C. Upshire – “Cathy” and the late Anthony Upshire – “Tony”. In 2003 he graduated from Alan B. Shepard High School. Quincy loved The Arts. When he entered high school he immediately sought out activities that served as an outlet for this love of the stage. Quincy participated in a number of extra-curricular activities such as Speech, Choir and Show Choir. He also participated in theatre and played lead roles in such productions as Les Misérables and the Wiz. He later went on to attend Moraine Valley Community College. Quincy had an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to be his own boss, so he enrolled in Larry’s Barber College. Quincy served his clients at the “Before and After” Barbershop owned by his dear friend Peter Smith - “Petey” here in Chicago and became one of Chicago’s finest barbers bringing his own unique, artistic flare to his cuts.
Quincy attended Greater Grace Church of Harvey, IL where the late David Beaver was Pastor with his parents until the age of eight. In 1992 his parents moved their membership to the Apostolic Faith Church (affectionately known as 38th Street) of Chicago, IL where Dr. Horace E. Smith, MD is Pastor. It was there he was baptized in Jesus name, filled with the Holy Spirit and grew into the God-fearing man we all loved and enjoyed. Quincy served in the church in various ministries such as the Drama Team, Young Adult Ushers Board, Security, the Armor Bearer Ministry and just recently the Alter Workers Ministry.
In September of 2014 Quintin Sinclair entered into Holy matrimony to Utopia Alexis Pope. To that union two children were conceived; a daughter (Evelynn Alexis Upshire) who was lost through miscarriage and their unborn son (Quintin Sinclair Upshire, II) whom Utopia was carrying when Quincy made his transition to Glory.
In 2015 Quincy and Utopia moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL and attended The Pentecostals of Cooper City Church where Mark Hattabaugh is Senior Pastor. It was there they launched Upshire Enterprises, a marketing and design company. A year later they relocated back to Chicago.
Quintin Sinclair Upshire answered the call from labor to reward on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Upshire; his grandmother, Leathia Julianne Morris (mother’s side); his grandfather, James Raymond Mulligan, Sr. (mother’s side) and his grandfather, Lucius Sonny Upshire (father’s side).
